America's Next Top Model: How Whitney Beat Anya

It seemed that every fan of America’s Next Top Model was convinced that Anya Kop would be crowned the cycle 10 winner this past Wednesday night. Yet, it was full figured model Whitney Thompson who ended up taking home the crown. Perhaps it was the way the show was edited but the race between Whitney and Anya was a lot closer than one may think. The two were equal on many levels but Whitney had Anya beat in one area that the judges just couldn't ignore. The only reason why Whitney won is because she will get the show more press as she is a full figured model. There's no other reason for her to win. Her photos were crap, and her personality was crap. Simple as that. She didn't deserve it. ANTM has a habit of picking the least deserving models as their winners. Probably for the last five cycles at least.

Heres my who deserved it list

Adrianne-Won only because she was different
Yoanna-Deserved it but was a bit plain
Eva-Fully deserved it and was a great model
Naima-Fully deserved it and was a great model
Nicole-Fully deserved it and was a great model
Danielle-Was a good model but only won due to battling her illness
Caridee-The best model of ANTM history
Jaslene-Only won because she tried out for cycle 7
Saleisha-Only won because she had previous modelling history
Whitney-Only won to pull in the viewers and being the first full figured model.

So basically when ratings are falling Tyra just picks not the best model but the person who viewers will be surpised by winning

when i read ginas posts my first thought is always, was she payed off to say that. then i remember oh shes independent from tyra. so yes i believe that there might be something going on with publicity and tyras ego. then again call me naive but isn't it tyra who doesn't give a damn about the worlds opinion.as tyra said those two were neck in neck. i still dont quite get it why she chose whitney instead of anya but i dont care cause i liked the whole top 6. even grandpa dom in the end. the main reaseon why i think some are complaining about whitney's win is that anya or kat didn't win. i dont see why all the drama. its not like you all were up there and got the boot. and for some reason i dont think that most of you know more about fashion and the whole industry than an avarage american(not meant as an insult).

I really don't think the spokesmodel thing is very important these days. When was the last time you saw a makeup commercial with a model in it? It's always some fresh faced TV star instead.

i dun think whitney did well in commercial . i thought the judges thought she was fake and she end up in the bottom two??

I think the judges were prepared to pick Anya, but Anya flopped at the runway show, whereas Whitney rocked it. Miss J was gunning for Whitney after the runway, and I think in the end, it was Whitney's strut that won her the title. I had sat down expecting to cheer Anya on to victory, but man, she was so paltry and blah on the catwalk.

I knew people would be saying Whitney won because she was plus, but really, if you saw the last episode, she won because she knew what she was doing on the runway.

I think Whitney won because every season they have at least one plus-sized model and every year they flop... if I were a plus-sized model and saw that only the skinny won, I would be hesitant to put myself through all that stress... At the end of the day, Anya didn't need to win... based on the portfolio she built in ANTM, I'm sure she is working already!
