1. Second time’s a charm.

Jaslene was obviously devastated when she didn’t make it onto Cycle Seven of America’s...

Okay....Um, I think that Natasha or Renee should have won. I didn't even like Renee because she was so mean, right? But the winner has to have a story. Like when they came up with a dance in Australia, Jaslene just talked about her love of modeling. Well that's just fine, but to be reading 6 pages in seventeen about the "Cha Cha Diva" liking modeling... well that's just boring. Of course she loves to model. But Natasha has her story abouther coming into America from Russia, and Renee has her story of experiencing abuse at a young age. I am very happy for Jaslene, but I hope her story contains more than just her wanting to be a model.

I think that Jaslene did tell her story...only she was more subtle about it. The moment I heard what she had said, I knew she was speaking about abuse. She said something along the line of "When I was a small child, I was betrayed", and although I cannot repeat verbatim what she said after that, the message was very clear to me. Although I do not doubt that Renee talking about her childhood abuse was utterly true, I just think that different people have different ways of revealing that to the world...some are more reticent, some are bold. I truly felt that neither of them was just pretending. Perhaps Renee was just more experienced at talking about it publically. I am the same, I've spoken about my own abuse often, so now it's not as terrifying. When I was younger, it literally crippled me to even THINK of speaking about this issue. So, does Jaslene have a story besides her passion for modeling? Oh, yes! And her passion will stand her in good stead...it's a tough business and

and passion is about the only thing that will carry you through the hard times and allow you to persevere. I wish Jaslene all the very best, I have confidence in her abilities, and I feel so very sad that this website has allowed so much hatred to be expressed. I think public forums such as this should be monitored for content. Not as a form of repression of freedom of speech. Just because the negative comments so outweigh any positive. Perhaps there should be a website specifically for very angry, hate-filled, racist people to comment on any of the latest media/political/social events freely, expletives and all. I'm sure those site exist. I personally have absolutely no desire to go there. Others seem to thrive on that. Again, this is about Jaslene, a beautiful woman, winning through her own hard work. And, although I'm now older and no longer a Skinny Minny, when I was her age I looked just that thin and I ate everything under the sun. It's genetics, folks!

I've just been looking at some further photos of Jaslene and can only say that I just LOVE the fact that she is DIFFERENT! Her so-called "ugly features" are just fabulous! The high cheekbones, the strong determined chin, the teeth and her lips...wonderful! And then, her eyes!!! Natasha, although lovely, is bland...Renee even more so! Jaslene is exotic, human, amazing! I'm a fan, and only hope to see her in print and on the runway a lot more!
