Syesha Mercado, aside from the top 2 finalists, can be considered the biggest story of the American Idol season. Spending all sorts of time in the bottom three and bottom two, Syesha kept fighting and improved more and more as the stakes got higher. Syesha emerged as an artist late in the season, becoming one of the most theatrically adept performers American Idol has ever seen. While she may not have been the best pure singer this season, Syesha gained fans throughout the season. Earlier today, Syesha held a conference call with the media to discuss her time on Idol and what she has planned for her future. To read the rest, click here.

I did vote for Syesha toward the end, she really started using her talents and got better. She will be wonderful for broadway singing I think. I would love to see her on that stage one day truly.....

This girl is very pretty , she looks like the singer Rhianna....but not as long legged. Not as tall. Losers in American Idol are the real winners....look at what happened to Jessica Hudson....She won an Oscar....agaisnt America's votes...which weren't for her. But like GreenDay has said this is a country of the idiot americans....they voted for Bush twice???????????

padackels - you mean Jennifer hudson, not jessica. She made it to the top 6, so that means people were voting for her. Not everyone in America are idiots (although there are plenty)

Glad to see that Syesha is finally getting some respect from the editors on this forum. I was sad to see her go, but not surprised. I think her song choices and performance style probably appeal to an older audience than the other top 3 performers, and older audience = fewer voters (they just don't care enough to actually make the calls). I agree with many here that Syesha will do great in theater musicals and I'm sure we'll be seeing more of her in the spotlight after AI.

I wish DA would've gone instead of Syesha. I'm spending too much time on Idol! Last night I had a dream that my beloved DC sang so bad NO ONE clapped! Scary!
