American Idol 7: Top 3 Live Results

David Cook. David Archuleta. Syesha Mercado. One of these three singers will be sent home on tonight's American Idol. It probably won't be one of the Davids. The inevitability of tonight's results show is mildly depressing: it's not that Syesha Mercado is so obviously deserving of a spot in the final two - she's not. It's that she wasn't given much of a chance in the first place. On American Idol, almost every contestant has been an afterthought compared to the Davids. It is unfair, but American Idol is inherently unfair - that's what happens when the people who make the show have a stake in the contestants' future. I'll be here throughout the results show (presumably so lots of you don't have to be) giving live updates as the action goes down.

Even though it's pretty obvious that Syesha is going to go......but I would LOVE it if David A is shockingly sent home. Sorry....I know there's fans out there but ummmmmm I dont like him.

Ok so I think there was one fantasia fan in the audiance. I heard a scream. How bad is it when your back up singers are better than you?

David Cook is NOT an Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now kind of guy.

I hate the Ford commercials. PLEASE MAKE THEM GO AWAY. Damn.

Booooring. Filler. SHOCK. Not enough time last night, 50 minutes too much tonight. Blech.

(How close was it really, Ryan? I was one of the 56 million voters, and I can tell you *ahem, Syesha and David Archulta* that I was David Cook all night long (and his THIRD line was plenty busy).

Oscar, I think he said to Sayesha "staying in there at number three." Which means not going to one or two, I agree.

Famtasia does NOT do red hair well.

At least we don't have to lick Jordin Sparks.

Finally, the drama starts. Hm, Archuleta is safe, I'm guessing. If Cook goes home, there will be HELL TO PAY.

not an archie fan, but the crying thing made him seem so sweet!!!!
