It's a foregone conclusion, is it not? The David Archuleta/David Cook finale has always been there on the horizon, ever since the American Idol Top 12 was named. The frustrating part, as it has been all season, is that there were always other deserving singers. Brooke White, Jason Castro, Michael Johns, Carly Smithson – all, at times, had rightful claims to become a top 2 American Idol finalist. Both John Kubicek and I are beyond certain that Syesha Mercado will exit stage left tonight, leaving us exactly what it appears the American Idol producers wanted all along – a David vs. David finale. Weirder things have happened, and it wouldn't upset either of us if David Archuleta was blindsided by the voting public, but that just doesn't seem to be in the cards. To read the rest, click here.

It's too bad it won't be a Cook vs Michael Johns finale, or a Carly/Cook finale (now THAT'S a catchy title!), but...c'est la vie. (I'm just going on the assumption that America was smart enough to vote for Cook, b/c if not, I'm not going to watch the show or read the boards anymore, b/c who cares at that point? I'll move onto So You Think You Can Dance, Nigel's other baby, and let the disappointing season disappear from my mind.) Last night's show pretty much sucked all the way around, except for David's Roberta Flack cover. I am shuddering to think about tonight. How much filler can they come up with? Do we have to hear Archuleta ruin Chris Brown? Will Syesha make out with a metal chair this time? Will Cook talk about his dreams (remember, that didn't help Carly any, and Syesha was lucky Jason phoned it in, or she would have been last week instead). Just sing, people, and don't pretend you're running for President.

Never has the bias of the show been more obvoius than last night. I don't think you are reading too much into it. It is deplorable. They told CheeseWhiz that he was a finalist before the other two had sang their last 2 songs, referred to Syesha as "third", Randy appeared to catch and reverse himself while starting to criticize Archie, Syesha got hammered by the judges, while the other two skated thru imperfect performances. They've tried to rig the whole show this year, much to its detriment.

BTW, the contestants CANNOT switch the winning song up AT ALL. This is why Blake sucked with THIS IS MY NOW. Okay, it's the worst song EVER, pretty much, but it played to Jordin's strengths and a beat boxer had no chance at all. So if it's schlocky, and it probably will be, Archuleta has already won the last round.

A Cook/Johns finale would have been the BEST!! If it is indeed a Cook/Archie finale I'm not sure I'll be able to hang. I may wait and watch it back on my DVR and FF through Archie. I just can't take it anymore. Those blank, empty eyes are really starting to get to me.

And... 'Out of touch' is a gross understatement. The producers song choices screamed out of touch. The irrelevance of some of the 'filler', the 'making a comeback' mentors, even the catalogs of songs the contestants are forced to choose from -- all out of touch. AI does indeed need a major overhaul.

PROOF OF AMERICAN IDOL FRAUD!!!! This is the second year in a row that American Idol has had a songwriting contest. Since the contest ended last year I've researched the contestants from last year and this year....FYI there were over 25,000 entries last year at $10.00 for each song. 20 songs were then chosen out of the 25,000 for an online vote. The winner's song is then performed on the American Idol Finale. The problem I have is that one of THIS years Top 20 Finalist is a Co-writer of LAST years Top 20 Winner. Somebody from American Idol has some explaining to do. THERE IS A LOT, LOT, LOT MORE!!!!! FOR ALL THE FACTS PLEASE VISIT.... http://americanidolexposed.weebly.com/
