David A. RUINED Love Me Tender. There was nothing loving OR tender about that performance. He should give it up and let Disney mold him into the next Hannah Montana. He has a good voice but enough with the runs and "who me?"

We can agree that Archuleta was number 1 and Jason was a distant last place, but I still have to take issue with the anti-Archuleta bias. Of course the kid isn't as talented as Ben E. King or Elvis. But really, name one performance this season that has even come close to equaling or surpassing the original recording. None of them have.

BuddyD - it's not just in comparison to the originals where I take my issue, it's when he destroys the spirit of the original. As The Editor and I have routinely pointed out, he takes songs and sucks the life out of them, while still singing them well.

I would love to know how old Oscar Dahl is? I'm guessing no older than 25.

TheEditor: I actually snorted and left the room when Archie said that dreck about never singing a love ballad. Then I came back in a watched in horror as he punched, kicked and stabbed Love Me Tender into an unrecognizable pulp. And -- Oscar -- you are entitled to your opinion -- I wish you had ranked the performances according to your personal preferences and not offered your peace pipe to the Archie Marchies.

AIAddict - I'll explain my reasoning more in the John vs. Oscar podcast coming up in the next hour or so. Mostly, it has to do with who furthered themselves in the competition more.

Ruthocd - I'm curious as to why you would think that.

I guess I just don't see how he sucks the life out of his songs. He may be too young to connect with some of them, but he always has energy and puts feeling into his voice. That's more than I see Jason Castro doing on a weekly basis.
