Why do you guys so cynical? Archuleta owned tonight. He delivered, made his own, changed things up with heartfelt emotions and vocal power. He is the best contestant who can connect to listeners. Also, he is the youngest who we all should learn from with his humbleness, honesty and sincerity. Don't say it's fake. I heard enough from people who can't see the truth.

i have watched all the performances on u tube david was totally on the money tonight i love the way hw makes the songs his own. david c didn't like his first song choice he was off on that song but he did a really good job with his second song. syesha was ok i prefer trenyces version of proud mary. second song was much better. Jason castro totally not there at all rushed his first song and totally bombed with i shot the sheriff. So i think based on the performances jason and syesha bottom 2 and i think that syesha will go though she shouldn't as she certainly out sang jason. but i think he has a bigger fan base and may just scrape in.

Ugh, if by "make it his own," you mean "drain the song of its meaning and turn it into a sappy ballad with useless runs only designed to show off his voice without any thought about the reason," then yes Arch does make songs his own. Also, did anyone else laugh out loud when he said he wanted to do "Love Me Tender" because he's never sung a love ballad on the show. Um, isn't that what every single song he's ever sung is?

First of all, I am a Josh Groban fan so yeah. :P We all have our different tastes. Now, for your rankings, they're dead on with mine. Although, I like Proud Mary by Syesha than most people. I am also one of those people who think Archie's voice is beautiful.. but he's not very experienced and only does the same thing over and over with the song arrangement. It's getting boring but he is no doubt still a wonderful singer. Just boring to watch now.

I loved David Cook's version of Baba O'Riley, especially with the intimacy at the beginning. And I really felt like he effectively showed us his vocal range during that song. Wasn't a big fan of his first song, but the second song was most certainly a winner.

And to add... Thumbs up if you agree that one of the most interesting parts of the show this year is waiting to hear what David Cook is going to sing, and how he has arranged it. Don't you think it would be pretty boring without him?

I loved Syesha's performance this week and have liked her performances the last few weeks. And like many others, I missed some who have been eliminated such as Michael Johns and yes, the beautiful Kristy Lee Cook....another talented singer who kept improving, week after week. And I have to agree with the writer, AI should be the whole package...a person with talent, looks and star potential, but I must add also, AI winner should have a great voice with range. Hence, week after week, my question of why Jason remains and why Brooke remained....to me, just not the total package. At least David A. does have the voice--which should be one of the main requirements and many find him also to be delicious eye candy, I am just not one who does. Since Johns and Kristy Lee and even Carly left, I am just not as excited about AI as I once was. And we all do have our opinions, which is good. I now hope to see Syesha, Cook and David A. in the top three.

Great commentary! I do not like frantic music of any kind, so I like the CCR version of Proud Mary waaaaay better than anything Tina Turner has done and therefore really didn't like Syesha's version. Her 2nd song was better I thought. Once again David C was my favorite on both songs and I like Jason more all the time, like I said I don't like frantic music and he is about as laid back as it gets. Now for a contridiction. David A. isn't frantic but he bores me to death. Lyric interpretation is a concept he needs to embrace.
