Heeheeheeheehee! Blaming Archie. Priceless. But -- you know -- I don't think I will watch next season. I'm bored with the whole thing. I'm still watching this season for the single reason that I'm interested in what David Cook will do next. The minute he is gone -- I am too. I can always catch up here if I get the jitters. Sorta like a nicotine patch. Thanks Oscar and John!

the only problem with American Idol is....It's not a singing competition, basically all the crazed girls in the world like david archuleta cos he is cute! and they don't want him to go home, people are not rated on voices there are rated on style, popularity, cuteness or w/e, and other unimportant things like that, sure they are all talented but the person who actually deserves to win never wins because the voting is unfair...now I'm not saying that Jordin Sparks and Kelly Clarkson aren't good singers, but they won because they were popular not because of their voice.

TPTB are more interested in being able to say they had 947 Quintillion votes than limiting the votes to x per line and having a fair competition. They WANT it to be a popularity contest, singing has nothing to do with this show.

David Archuleta, I do not believe, is the main reason for the lower ratings, but if you had said David A and Jason C, then I would have agreed with you 100%. I often watch the performances a second or third time on you tube and one can read there where fans proudly state how many times they have voted for their favorite singer, normally Jason or David. These two, with Jason gaining points, seem to have the larger speed dialing fan base. So no, it is not just David A but also Jason C I think the judges are fine...guess I am used to them, but for me, this is not an exciting top 4 and was a weak top 5.

so this article is basically saying that david a is bringing the ratings of american idol down? i dont think that he is, i think what brought it down is the shock eliminations like carly and mj, cuz they were really good.

Archuleta consistently butchers songs with his annoying runs.

The reason for the low drop is not david archuletta its because fans get complacent and think their favourite will be safe like they all thought michael johns and carly were safe WRONG . If you want your favourites to stay get off your butts and vote like david archulettas loyal fans do. And he does not butcher every song thank you.Personally i think syesha will go next and the three guys will be left.

What is American Idol? Is it just good singing or.. an all-around, good singing, good performing, talented, good looking performer? If your a Real fan, then you will vote. I do agree about one thing. The voters might not necessarily know who is the best singer. But they do know who they would like to see singing or performing more. And younger audiences, I believe, don't know if I'm right, make up the bigger audience. Look at Hannah Montana!

You know . . . you have really proven what losers you are with this one. Blaming Archuleta - that absurd and you know it. It seems that you're just looking for anything negative to say about him and now you've resorted to making things up. Honestly, it seems that you're just irritated that he might actually have decent vocals and perhaps isn't as terrible as you say he is. Grow up a little, hey. There are obviously many reasons that the ratings have dropped and maybe if you had done a little research first you could have written about the issue intelligently. It's one thing to try to be funny or to create some buzz but this is ridculous and I'm kind of embarrassed for you. Hope you accomplished whatever it was that you set out to do.

PS. Don't you think that the judges have started "pimping" David Cook in much the same way that made you hate Archuleta in the first place.

Hey, people who are so upset - it's a theory. Nothing more, nothing less. Also (and I probably didn't make this clear enough), I'm not blaming Archuleta - I was just using him as an example of how some people have a skewed ratio of fans to votes.
