American Idol is intense. The insane pressure that all of the American Idol contestants face on a weekly basis would destroy the weak-willed, and has turned great singers into shriveling piles of goo. Knowing that you are being watched and judged by tens of millions of people is intimidating, no matter how good you are. Brooke White was one of those people, it turns out, who was effected by the pressure of American Idol. If you watched close enough, I'm sure you could have guessed this was the case - nerves were clearly taking their toll emotionally on Brooke during the American Idol season. Earlier today, Brooke held a media conference call and discussed her time on American Idol.To read the rest, click here.

Bye Brooke. She did good, but simply is not my cup of tea. She will probably have a pretty good career... But then again, she may bore the fans to death first.

You didn't specify what kind of career Brooke would be sucessful in. I'm sure she is going to have mild success following the exposure on AI. But I think the answer to the question should be yes because she will have a sucessful career as a wife, mother and all round good person...I guess that sounds a bit cheesy. Good luck to her. I'm glad there was room for her kind of talent this year.

Um - I have refrained from saying this because, well, its based in personal experience - but every song that both Brooke and Archie sing/sang has a 'Mormon' accent. I was raised Mormon and left the religon over 10 years ago. While growing up I sang many songs that were 'revamped' by superiors because of inappropriate lyrics or messages or even 'disrespectful' melodies . This is also why both Brooke and Archie have had such staying power. The Mormon population is voting for them. My family is still Mormon and they think that both Brooke and Archie are wonderful and 'wouldn't it be great if a nice Mormon kid won American Idol and could be a good example to the youth today?'. It was the same with Carmen Rasmusen from season 2 - she had a vibrato that sounded like a goat and questionable performance skills -- but she made it to the top 6.

I am not saying there is anything wrong with being Mormon or whatever religon or that there is anything wrong with the way both Brooke and Archie have made it this far-- everyone is entitled to their choices and opinions in life. I'm just saying that it makes sense to me.

I think Brooke will have a moderately successful career. If she can really tap into the singer/songwriter vibe, she may do well, but as of now she doesn't really stand out, and there are lots of Colbie Caillets, etc. out there ("Bubbly"). I felt badly for her last night, but look at how well Carly, Kristy Lee, and Michael handled it, and then look at Brooke; if she can't take the pressure, she might not be able to go far. As for being Mormon, so what?! How is that relevant?

Oh -- and my sister-in-law (who is in her early 20's) and her friends and the young women (the tweenies) they teach in Sunday School get together on Tuesdays and 'power vote' for Archie. They have contests to see who can vote the most times. This is a HUGE reason why Jazzyjake is right and that AI voting must be revamped.

Brooke was my early favorite during the semifinal rounds. I'm happy that she got this far, although I still think she should've gone home last week. I'll definitely buy her album if she does the Carly Simon thing. Also I'm really surprised to see Syesha as the last woman standing. I did not see that coming.

| Who would have guessed it? Syesha ends up being in the Top 4 and the last female standing. It's interesting how things have worked out this season.
