Over his career, Neil Diamond has sold over 120 million records worldwide. This is what Wikipedia tells me. He's written and recorded more songs than one can count and, at the age of 67, is still going strong, selling out arenas across the globe. You may not like him for what he's regrettably come to represent, mostly thanks to the stereotyped make up of his fans, those being lame Baby Boomers. The American Idol viewing audience, I'm sure, is chalk full of Diamond lifers, and for them tonight promises to be a treat. I could personally do without most of his song book, but I readily admit that he's got about 15-20 great songs notched on his large belt. Those who are inexplicably dreading this night because it's another theme might just be pleasantly surprised by tonight's American Idol. It will certainly be better than last week's. I'll be here throughout the episode, chiming in with my live thoughts as the episode moves along. Please feel free to comment below with your thoughts on the performances, and don't forget to hit that refresh button. To read the rest, click here.

Oscar, indeed, the last two songs (I'm a Believer & Sweet Caroline) were awful! I firmly believe that David Archuleta could take whatever is my favorite song and butcher it to be unrecognizable and all the while the 3 Amigos would gush about how inspired it was. Ugh.

I thought Brooke started out a tiny amount week but got better as her performance went on. The song choice is a lil surprizing but overall I dug her performance & thought it was one of her better. Syesha looked amazing but I still think she brings nothing special and tonight she showed still. I agree with Simon Archuleta's 1st performance was amateuris. Although I wasn't digging the song choice for Archuleta I have to say its about d*mn time he sung a more mid-uptempo song. The slow chill mellow ballads of the previous weeks was getting boring and making him seem more and more one dimensional or however thats spelt. Cook was awesome with his first song. A lil ify start but still good. Jason's first performance was not too bad. More comments after second song choices.

Jason's second song choice was not a good one for him. It was too slow & made everything a lil boring but I think his vocals were still good. During the 1st performance I thought he would be in the final 3 with the 2 Davids. Now I am a lil less sure about this. I loved Cook's first performance but I mega super loved his second performance. That second song sounds contemporary and could be a hit single on the radio now. Will comment about rest when show comes back from commericial break.

If Brooke doesn't mess up this second song she could just shock america and escape the bottom 2. Then it be Jason and Syesha in the bottom 2 unless by some miracle ppl listened to Simon and put Archuleta in the bottom 2. But that is about as likely as me winning the biggest lotto of all time. lol. Ok she is done & I must say I dug the song choice & her vocals & overall performance. I hate how the judges continue to pimp Archuleta & think he is God's gift to the Idol viewers & music world. He isn't! Yes he is a good singer but he is so one dimentional. It took him what 10 weeks or so to finally do a non-ballad non-chill mellow slow song. He still hasn't shown us much diversity not only vocally but performance wise as well. OMG are you that desperate Archuleta that you have to pull a Kristy Lee Cook move and yank out the Patriotic card. All I have to say to that is BOOO LIL DAVID BOOO! He didn't need to do that he has tons of fans. I also didn't dig the arrangement & how he sung at the b

beginning. Syesha looked cool still but I dunno if the song she choose was such a wise one or the best for her. Oh goodness first it's Lil David pulling out the Patriotic card now it looks like Syesha is pulling out the religion card. But unlike Archuleta Syesha needs all the help she can get. I like that she is singing a more uptempo song now. But 10 weeks to do that is a lil too long. 2 weeks of good to decent performances should not give her a pass to the final 4 or 3. So best the night award goes to David Cook. I think he is the only one who will for sure def. be safe after tommrows results.
