I am SO over David Archuleta. I think he's been taking notes from Kristy Lee Cook on how to appeal to the voters (not that he needs to). He's a strong singer, but has zero stage charisma (well, that's my opinion, anyway). I wouldn't vote against him (I am voting for David Cook right now, as I always do), but I don't want him to win it all, and at this point, I don't think he will (I'm gunning for David Cook). Has Jason Castro even been rehearsing, or has he just given up? Man, wrong song choices, poorly sung songs, etc. I thought Brooke did nicely in round two, and I think Sayesha was very strong and Simon hates her so she's going home. David Cook was only okay in round one (not that anyone was good in round one) and BRILLIANT in round two.

Bottom two: Syesha and Jason or Brooke

Going home: Syesha

Strangest show ever: tonight's. Chaotic is being kind. TWO songs per singer in a ONE HOUR SHOW? I don't get it.

I thought the show was a bit boring -- nothing really exciting happened. It was also a bit sloppy and unprofessional.

Paula messed up quite a bit tonight, it was pretty funny.

I also mentioned I wanted someone to sing "I'm a Beleiver," but Brooke's rendition was not good...

carjean, my "lame baby boomers" comment was made about the stereotypical view of who Neil Diamond fans are, not my view.

Brooke wrote some of the lyrics on her hand so she wouldn't forget them...come on! Someone put the girl out of her misery for God's sake =p

Hey Oscar, if the shoe fits. I know what you meant. I just couldn't resist picking up on it.

Here's what I thought of the performances:

Jason Castro: First performance was boring and 'forgettable'-I have to agree with Simon. His second performance was pretty much the equivalent of his first-maybe a bit better, I couldn't say. He lost my interest really quickly.

David Cook: His first performance was nice; it wasn't bad compared to what was to follow. His second performance was much better, and a little more exciting (I think this one won the night).

Brooke White: Her first performance was not great.and I wanted someone to sing "I'm a Believer"-now I regret wishing that just 'someone' would do it. Her second performance was better, but probably because she was more comfortable and we're used to seeing this side of her.

David Archuleta: His first performance: eh. His second was along the same lines, but the song choice was 'witty', I guess-I use that term lightly. David A. has been experiencing weeks of mediocrity. Is this any indication of what's to come post-Idol? Maybe.

Syesha Mercado: Her first performance was a nice one-it was simple and satisfying. Of course, it wasn't up to the judge's standards because they expect much more. Her second performance was okay-not her best.

All in all, the night was not one of Idol's best. I'm guessing it won't be very memorable. I did, however, like seeing Neil Diamond as a mentor. I thought he was pretty cool and very helpful.
