I hope Carly's votes go to David Cook, since they are both rockers. I think the reason both the Davids were paraded out first was to say, Hey, America, this is going to be your FINAL TWO. So if you want them to be, keep voting, and if you don't, pick your favorite and vote now! (I am a David Cook fan all of the way, so now I'll vote harder). Interesting that Brooke is the vote the worst artist. I thought it would be Jason. But that makes sense.

David Cook has to win this. He blows me away every week. He really can sing any song - he's amazing.

Brooke blocked the sun with the Sunshine song, murdered Jolene, and should have lost her friends with King, and last week was far from being a Hero--and now this week--she is staying all on Let it Be! And Jason--well it was a train wreck, but a train that was being guided by a handsome young man lacking in strong vocal power or talent. He just left the wrecked train and move onto another--hoping no one would notice. Now it seems most everyone is upset with the results. But in the past, so much attention was directed and encouraged at bashing Kristy Lee that these two singers were permitted to sneak past on a lack of vocal skills or talent. Now they are in the TOP 5 of what is rated as the best 5 ever to be on AI. Well, did their performances this week prove they are TOP 5 talent? Maybe blogs should encourage people to vote for real talent and for someone who has the potential to be a true star and have a real career.

After Michael's elimination a few weeks back, I began to wonder about these things, and yesterday with Carly's elimination, I came to a few conclusions. Here's what I've learned form watching Idol this season:

  1. You either have to give the best performance of the night, or one of the absolute worst to earn you pity votes. Only with performances like these will you be safe. (See: Michael Johns, Kristy Lee Cook, and Carly Smithson)
  2. Your most recent performance is usually the most important and, therefore, the one you will be judged upon.
People are indifferent to the judges. One week they may listen to the judges, while the other week (like this one) they'll completely ignore them.
  3. Anyone who has the time to vote non-stop has all the power. As of now, it seems certain teens are in charge of Idol.

Oh, I forgot to mention that David Archuleta is practically immune to number one on my list.
