I'd love Jason to sing "High Flying Adored" from Evita. David C. is crazy not to sing from Jesus Christ Superstar. I'm calling David A. to sing "Any Dream Will Do" from Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I also won't put it past one of the girls to attempt "Memory" from Cats (which is a lot harder to sing that it seems). Don't mind me. I love Broadway! I'm actually sort of looking forward to this but only because I expect a lot of butchering of great songs to occur.

I like your suggestion for Jason, randomx. I think David Cook could do great things with You Must Love Me from Evita. I too would like to see him do some Phantom (pref. Music of the Night) but I feel like that's too obvious, and he has the chance to take yet another song made famous by a huge pop icon (Madonna) and Cook-ify it.

I don't know the Evita song RandomX suggested for Jason--maybe it would be good. I know they've already picked, but I have really been thinking about this, since I am a little worrid about Jason this week. Call me crazy, but I really think he could do 'All I Ask of You", if people would accept a mellow, sincere version without the super-high, octave-up dramatic part at the end. It could be beautiful done that way and the lyrics would be great for Jason. I hope no one does "memory"--except maybe someone I'd like to see go. But at this point I like them all well enough.

They haven't had a single week that didn't have a theme -- often a narrow one. We've never seen these contestants sing a song of their own choosing if all their options were open. What's wrong with the producers???

Actually, "Inspirational Songs" week was totally discretional and they totally bombed. I'm not sure it matters with this bunch.

Ahhhhhhh, don't be so sure Kristy Lee Cook would have stunk it up singing "Don't Cry For Me Argentina." Olivia Newton John did a cover of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" and she has a similar vocal range to Kristy. I know a lot of people want Brooke White to sing "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar, but I personally would recommend "Everything's Alright" from JC Superstar...just cut out the Jesus and Judas parts. Or I was gonna say something from Godspell but that's NOT Andrew Lloyd Weber. Whoops. I'm thinking David Archueleta could really shine on this night because there are a lot of inspirational songs to choose from. He could sing something from "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", I think that would be perfect, imho. By the way, there are also 2 some good articles at jviz.blogspot.com here http://jviz.blogspot.com/2008/04/young-stars.html and here http://jviz.blogspot.com/2008/03/josiah-leming.html

ugh..this is the worst theme yet --i love to go see broadway shows but i have no interest in watching Jason, or the others for that matter, sing theatrically!! they criticize all the time for sounding "CABARET" --so why get training to be more cabaret?? it would be far more interesting to allow the contestants some VARIETY and let them sing something that actually might end up on a CD that they could be proud of... does the next pop star need to sing like a classical singer to prove they have the "it" factor? don't think so... there's a reason why ratings this year have dropped dramatically... every show change they've thought up this year just BITES! not looking forward to this week at all...
