Predicting the American Idol eliminated contestant has turned out to be a tricky little task. As of right now, I have predicted zero (0) of the eliminated contestants correctly, while my cohort John Kubicek has correctly predicted only two. While I have been dead on in predicting the bottom three the previous two weeks, this sort of futility is difficult to swallow. To be fair, this season of American Idol has been one shocking elimination after another, with little rhyme or reason for each week's departed singer. In our latest audio edition of John vs. Oscar, John and I are in complete agreement on who will go home. If the history of this season continues as it has, then we will both surely be wrong in our predictions. However, I believe this will finally be the week I get off the shnide. Below you will find a full mp3 audio of our American Idol conversation. To read the rest, click here.

My bottom 3 5) Brooke White 6) Syesha Mercado Going home: Carly Smithson Syesha is boring and old fashioned. KLC still has the country fans vote and unless they are getting sick of her rotten personality -- she is so obnoxious and a little bit of an ingrate -- I still think what she said about her mama and reminding everyone TWICE that she gave Mariah chills is pathetic. Brooke was just bad. And I mentioned this last night -- I think Carly would have been much better suited to the season she got booted from because of the visa issue. She is just irrelevant now and very out dated. She does have a very good voice -- but very little star quality.

Top 3 David, David, Jason - not because of talent but just popularity. In case most people forget, its still a popularity contest. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes its just who gets the vote. Tonight Carly or Brooke or even time for Kristy to leave. Syesha still has a contingent voting for her for awhile. And David C. was not as great as Simon said last nite. The truth is they need a Daughtry to win (Rocker) so they are pushing him on us. How can Syesha be criticized for picking an unknown song when David C did the same. The only songs that I know was Jason's and Brooke's. Ok I am not a big Mariah (hootchie mama) fan.

I think the problem with David Cook's performance was that it was lacking any sort of emotion. Technically it was proficient (though boring), but I didn't believe there was any feeling behind his "Always Be My Baby" lament.

Oscar -- I think your rankings are crazy. I think DC is extremely talented - he has a week (maybe less than) to create an arrangement for a song he probably would never choose to sing were he not pigeon holed into a genre or an artist's catalog and I think he has mostly done a solid job. Archie chooses whatever ballad suits his voice and then maybe does a few runs or changes the note placement a bit. Any time he has tried to do something upbeat he has sucked big time. I would switch David A and David C -- but as always -- everything is subjective. I still think you're crazy -- are your ears still plugged up from your cold last week?

Bottom 3? 5) Brooke 6) Syesha 7) Carly exits Clearly all 3 guys are safe, it's just a choice between Brooke and Kristy Lee for the 3rd stool. I thought KL's performance was OK and Brooke's wasn't so there it is. It wouldn't surprise me if any of the 4 gals go though.

AIAddict, thank you. With Oscar joining BuddyD's army against DCook, I need all the supporters I can get.

I was going to join the chorus of protests about theme weeks, but then had second thoughts. On this site and others the theme weeks are derided, yet on "inspirational song" week, which was pretty much the only discretionary week this season, they all bombed. How do you you account for that? Could it be that this group of contestants just isn't very good?

Completely agree Carly needs to go, She peaked during the Top 24 and I haven't loved a performance of her's yet. Oscar - I can't be mad at you because your voice is sexy! LOL! But I dont agree about the David Cook criticism, he's using cover's but they all are covering a version of the songs and he just finds the right ones that fit..And you praised Archuleta...it was too much to handle!
