Goodness are you guys wrong! Many of us thought Michael was gone last wek and many of us think Syesha or Brooke is going this week. Syesha has not connected with anyone and my darling babbling Brooke had an emotional collapse during her number. Oh and Carly is trashed by the judges much more than Syesha. THeya ttack Carly personally, they attack Syesha's song choice.

AIAddict and I are in perfect agreement this week. I hope we're wrong though and Babbling Brooke goes.

I'm not sure I'd buy a CD by DCook, but he's the only one left standing that is even remotely interesting. He's the only one who attempts some connection with the lyric.

With everyone else in this group, you get the same performance every week to different songs. No imagination. No artistry. I'd bring back Amanda and Chikesie if I could - for better or worse, at least they made you wonder what you were going to see.

JazzyJake, I've got to agree with you. Most of the contestants don't look like they'll stray away from their niche, and that can get a bit repetitive. But, I do think that after last week, many of the contestants are going to hold on to their niches more. Johns let go of the bluesy style for a week, was criticized for it, and was then wrongly eliminated.

It's a crazy thought, but I was wondering whether there's any chance that David A. or David C. might go home this week. I know, it sounds ridiculous and it is, but the only recognizable voting pattern this season has been that which gets rid of contestants who have never been in the bottom three before.

At this point, only the 'Davids' have never been in the bottom three. It seems impossible though, and if it happened it'd loose Idol even more viewers.

I will agree that most of the people left deliver the exact same performance every week. Archuleta, Brooke, Jason, Syesha, Carly, KLC, but I still think Cook is different enough (either in his performances, or just compared to everyone else) to stand out. Michael John too, for that matter, trying some different things. But don't you dare say Amanda should be back. Everything she did sounded the same: incoherent muttering.

Incoherent muttering perhaps, but interesting incoherent muttering nevertheless. You have to admit that at least you wondered what she was going to do or look like. N'est ce pas?

As I've said before, even the bad performances now aren't interesting.

Hey John and Oscar, I listened to the podcast and enjoyed it a lot. I agreed with you that it is unfair that the show tell people to stay away from mariah Carey and then force them to sing it. Also, it is hypocritical to force someone to sing a Mariah Carey song who would not normally chose it themselves ( i.e. Brooke ) and then make the comparison in the critism afterwards.

I do not remember which one of you sorta disliked David Cook's performance last night, but considering the above point, I am going to have to kindly force you to give him some credit. IT'S MARIAH CAREY! I don't believe David would ever choose one of her songs if it were his choice first of all. Also, given that Mariah's music is mainly emotional relationship oriented pop fluff, did you expect Metallica's version of Without You? We all know that this kind of hard rock won't really fly on AI and it is the more Creed-ish stuff that AI viewers will find themselves connecting with.

Also, I believe David C. has sincer

I'm afraid for Brooke. I feel she has more to offer then any of the other females on the show. I do however feel she'll end up in the bottom three.
