American Idol has been nearly impossible to predict this season, and last night's Dolly Parton mentored episode isn't making things any easier.  The episode featured top to bottom solid performances, and amateur elimination prognosticators like myself are left scratching their heads.  Who will go home?  Who should go home?  Will Ramiele Malubay's mind-bending streak of avoiding the bottom three come to an end?  Will a memorable song choice keep Syesha Mercado out of the bottom?  Will Kristy Lee Cook survive elimination by the skin of her teeth yet again?  In our fourth edition of John vs. Oscar, the two of us are in agreement over eliminations for the first time this season.  It's actually fitting, as John is out of town today and, thus, we were unable to record our discussion.  Thank goodness for the magic of e-mail.

4th best version of 'I Will Always Love You'?!? He's obviously not heard Leona Lewis's version...

Im predicting a shocking elimination tonight. Ramiele deserves to be in the bottom 3 but im kind of 50-50 if we are going to see her sitting on one of the stools. I believe she is leading the text votes. So my bottom 3 are Carly, Jason and Kristy (or Ramiele) with either Carly or Jason being voted off.

Ramielle's luck runs out tonight.
The other 2 will come from the other girls or Jason (most likely Kristy finishing 8th and other person 7th). Kristy the cat is going to live another week.

I give up trying to predict the bottom 3, much less who gets voted off. Based on their performances last night, though, I know two who SHOULD be there - Ramiele and Brooke. I thought everyone else did remarkably well. It is getting to where I hate to see anyone leave.

Money is the word, and Kristy Lee will not be going home tonight, despite the BuddyTV writer and user hatred of her. Her performance was spot on better than Syesha last night, and what I find funny is that the last Article found Oscar saying (not quote): She sang a good version, but isn't as good as all the other singers. If that were true then why didn't some of the sing better than her? That logic makes no sense. A better performance is a better performance and means you performed better than the others....

... I'm still, personally, not sure why Jason Castro is still in. He isn't that great, and you will notice how the tide swung from by Oscar, when he immediately hit bottom three it switched to: ... *cough* Nice flip-flop. I love the opinions, but when they go overboard on bashing, it's silly. KLC is definitely 10x better than Sanjaya, and she's given good singing (according to you!) performances the last three times, while (according to you) others haven't...

Yet you still continue to insist she's the worst. Now, voting wise she may be coming close to the fine point where she can't build much more vote (although her votes in NJ, NY, etc. are strong), but that doesn't mean she deserves to be there less than those who were voted off. Three decent-good performances when others have had three mediocre-good performances should warrant at least some kind of recognition. Haterz.. :P

I'm jumping on the bandwagon and saying that Ramiele should go. KLC pleasantly surprised me with a decent performance last night, Archuleta is a monster that can't be stopped, and David C. and Michael Johns are definately safe. Syesha didn't do it for me, and she just doesn't have that great of a fan base, so she might be bottom 3. I still love Carly, even though she needs to loosen up. I'm souring on Brooke...she has a lovely voice, but just isn't bringing anything new to the table and seems to be getting worse instead of better. Plus the fact that she sings out of the corner of her mouth annoys me. I know its petty! I do hope that she is safe and redeems herself next week though. As for Castro...well, I'm pretty much indifferent. He doesn't seem to be all that interested in the competition, so why should I be interested in him?
