American Idol is a shameless self-promoter.  It seems like every single former American Idol contestant has popped up on a subsequent Idol season to perform a song from their debut record that isn't selling very well.  There's nothing wrong with this, it's the smart thing for Idol and FOX to do.  What's become clear, however, is that success on American Idol (votes and whatnot) does not equal success out in the real world.  Albums are difficult to sell these days for anyone, and being on American Idol does not make one immune to this fact.  Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis, Katharine McPhee, Taylor Hicks – none of these artists set the world on fire with their debut albums.  Regardless, American Idol still attempts to help out their own “products” by giving them air time on the world's most popular television show.  This week, The Clark Brothers will perform on American Idol.  If, prior to the last sentence, you were unaware of the existence of a band called The Clark Brothers, don't worry – you are not alone.

I'm cheesily excited by this, mostly to see what Simon thinks of them, secondarily to see Paula drool over them, and thirdly, in the hopes the Dicko, Sheila E., Rzeznick and Dominic Bowden show up too!

I can't wait to see the Clack Brothers. When will Dot Dot Dot get to perform on American Idol.

Natalie, you rule. Im a huge fan of Dot Dot Dot. Met them in Chicago and Madison on a few occasions. They are all really nice, and you can tell how much they appreciate their fans. They should have went further on Great American Band, as the song they went out on was young turns by rod stewart. They nailed it.

Not every former contestant has had their chance to return. I'm waiting for Constantine Maroulis to come e back and entertain us. The show hasn't been the same since he was eliminated.

Of course Oscar doesn't care for Christian themes....there's a shocker!!!! Tells me a whole lot about him and why he is so clueless in everything he writes about!

I'm going to side with Oscar. Nothing against religion, I just don't want it in my pop music either. The Clark Brothers are stupid to have on Idol. They have no relevance in the radio/pop music world. Oh wait, just like 99% of Idol's contestants. Okay, I get it.

Acemondo, you're so reliable. Love it.

I'd rather see The Clark Brothers than Kimberly Locke, but that's not saying much.
