That's pretty dead on, I think your order - and your explanation for David A. is spot on. He's more demographically appealing than just the tween girls - and that's trouble for EVERYONE else.

If Smithson can tone down the drama and tats, she may make number three, though.

I think your pretty dead on also, because alot of people are voting for David A. I Truly believe that David Cook should take it this year, but am concerned that David A is going to be the winner am hoping otherwise myself. I believe that The judges are right in saying he takes brave risks, and he is truly awesome, All I keep saying to myself is whatever happens, we have another Daughtry or better on our hands and I"m sure Happy about that...because David Cook is a true treasure that Idol found for us this year...Thanks for your predicition..I've been waiting for one....

Logic is a difficult thing to employ when it comes to American Idol.  There are countless examples in the show's history of singers making it further than any logic would dictate (Sanjaya Malakar, anyone?) and even this season has had its share of baffling moments (Carly Smithson's brief appearance in the bottom three comes to mind).  So, take everything going forward with a grain of salt.  American Idol voters have shown to be fickle customers – the week to week vote fluctuations are often astonishing.  What I'm going to attempt to do here is predict the final finishing order of American Idol's Top 9 using (gulp) logic.  What else is there to go on, really?  My gut feelings regarding eliminations this season have been abysmally off base and I'm seriously beginning to rethink my future career as a reality television prognosticator.  Let's give this a whirl.

I think Ramiele may go further judging from the # of posts on her fan site compared to the rest. I'd like to see David C. win but I think the comparison to Blake Lewis is dead on and he has a career regardless. I'm glad for the exposure Carly and Brooke are getting from this and they probably will have post Idol success too.I'm afraid it's back to the bar scene for Michael Johns. As for the rest of them...good luck on the local telethon circuit. I have nothing to say about David A.

Here's my prediction:
9th - Syesha Mercado - She's actually one of the better singers in the competition, but I believe Syesha will be a victim of having a small fan base. A really good performance next week might push her up a notch, but sadly that's the highest she will go.
8th - Carly Smithson - Sometimes she's really good, and sometimes she's really bad. Inconsistency is thing with Carly, and with a small fan base like Syesha, I think she should start turning it up before it's too late.
7th - Jason Castro - Jason=one-trick pony. Among the remaining contestants, Jason obviously has the weakest vocals. His style may have been interesting before, but now it's getting boring and annoying. How he's still in the competition is beyond me. But I guess that he's getting the vote of every single tone-deaf teenage girl who's hypnotized by a dude with dreads playing the guitar. I don't see him turning it up and having a great performance because of his vocals, and people will soon realize that

im pulling for michael to go far in this competition.. he has a pure voice and every one of his performances is great.. but i agree that his fan base is probably smaller than david, david and brooke's so 4 seems about right.. and yes, these prediction seem perfect.. it would take some incredible or amazingly poor performances to make these predictions incorrect..

David Cook is original? What's he going to do if Nine Inch Nails hasn't covered a Dolly Parton tune? He is talented, but David A. has taken more risks w/his song choices, and not borrowed everything he has sung from other artists. Go David A!

I think David A will go #3. He has thrown out 3 mediocre to bad perfomances in a row and his numbers are dropping. If/as Brooke, Carly, Michael are eliminated their votes go to David Cook not David A. Jason will split between the two. Krsity's voters are a wild card. Syesha's go to Rami and her voters go away when she does which may not be until she hits #4. Brroke, carly or Michael end up #2.

How is Carly supposed to 'tone down the tats'? Wear a habit? I hope David Cook does not win. I hope he goes far and gets lots of good exposure -- but I want him to be able to make the album HE wants to make. I keep reading that people are slamming DC for not truly being original with his song arrangements -- I will once again say that it is not his fault if the judges have never heard an Alternative Rock version of a song and then praise him for orignality -- as much as Randy and Simon tout themselves for being music industry giants -- they clearly are not versed on all genres. Paula is just pathetic. What is he supposed to do? Interrupt the judges like Brooke does? Annoying! Ryan clearly announced before he sang last week that it was Chris Cornell's version -- and a kick butt rendition at that. I'm familiar with Chris Cornell's take on Billie Jean and think its great -- and DC's version was really, really good. And I've never heard and Alternative Rock cover of 'Hello' -- I

David A is lily white pure boring to me. I'm not saying he doesn't have a nice voice. But he has some serious performance flaws and his renditions of songs are not always great or even interesting. Yes, 'Imagine' was beautiful -- but a little dumbed down in my opinion. I'm just not a fan.
