John vs. Oscar: American Idol Top 10 Elimination Predictions

The American Idol Top 10 performed last night, and by the end of the day, it will be a Top 9. Who will be the next contestant to leave us? That is quite a difficult question this week. For the third week in a row, my fellow BuddyTV writer John Kubicek and I sat down and held a long discussion on who will be the next eliminated American Idol singer. This week is so difficult because there's no one that's close to a consensus pick – everyone has vastly different opinions on who will go home and who should go home. While there may be two specific contestants who I think should be eliminated, I'm confident that neither will, for one reason or another. What, then? Well, we have to look at the past couple weeks, analyze the voting patterns and who has previously found themselves in the bottom three. John and I disagree on our predictions, but don't necessarily disagree on each other's prediction rationales. While I think that changing it up is good sometimes, I also do believe that its important to show people what kind of artist you'll be. I'm talking about Brooke White and Jason Castro right now. People complain about how Brooke and Jason are just to boring and are playing it safe. I feel they are showing us what they're albums would be like. I actually think it helped Brooke after last week. Now we know that she can't do up-tempo happy songs and we won't complain as much.

No way is Jason going to be in the bottom 3. 1) He's adorable. 2) Yesterday was his birthday. And 3) The home movies of him and his brother playing rock music were hilarious. Jason, like Archuleta, can already reserve his spot in the Top 5.

I think they should drop all these and bring Danny Noriega back.

Kill me now if Danny Noriega ever manifests. I do believe that Jason won't be in the bottom three, but top 5 is a bold prediction. A lot changes and I think this group is so close talent wise I can't even predict that far ahead. All I know is Chikeze, Kristy Lee and Ramiele (although I do love her) have to go.

Oscar, The fact that you have Kristy in your bottom 3 means to me that you are not in touch with the American voters.

She and Carly will not be bottom 3. I think the surprise # 3 will be Brooke or Jason. Number 2 will be Rami and number 1 Eze - just my opinion.

I also don't think Brooke or Jason will touch the bottom three. They may not have had the best night, but they do have one thing in common that nobody has pointed out. They have completely different fans then everyone else. Ramiele, Syesha, and Carly are splitting votes as are Michael and David C. This is why Kristy Lee remains after quite a few bad performances. She has the country vote. No one else is competing with Kristy Lee for the country votes, thus she is still here.
