Just wanted to say that Ryan DID mention that Cook was going to do Cornell's version of the song. And this is American Idol, not battle of the bands or some !@#!@. They can be original AFTER they've won

Michael Johns did a great job, so what if he couldn't hit a high note. Carly Smithson and Ramiele Malubay, two of this season better vocalists both messed up last night. This may be a singing competition, but it doesn't mean you have to have the most powerful voice to win.

I remember enjoying Michael's performance very much (regardless of whether he hit the perfect high note or not). I don't really care if its better than the original, but I know I liked it more than most other contestant's. Is this American IDOL or America's Next Top Vocalist???

David Cook's performance was the best on that episode. I hope Ramiele could do better next week. She's a great singer, Iknow she can a lot better. I hate judging other contestants performances because it's so hard to be on their shoes specially on the stage in front of audiences, judges and millions of televiewers. They're all good coz' they made it in Top 10.

What is the deal with attacking David Cook? Idol contestants for the previous 6 seasons have sung covers, including David A. this season. These contestants are all singing other's songs. That is what Idol is about. I am sure David would love to sing his own songs, because he has plenty. You complain by comparing and you complain when they choose a different way. Give it up. David Cook is the most talented contestant to ever hit the stage on Idol. Try listening to his own songs and no, he is no Daughtry, never claimed to be. Actually, David Cook was never an Idol watcher, so give credit where it is due, because the artist's have called Idol and given David kudo's, including Chris Cornell. David did nothing but bring Cornell in the limelight for those who had never heard his music and we all know how Lionel Ritchie felt about David's rendition of "Hello". He wants to release it and knows it would be a #1 hit. David is brilliant, as a artist and songwriter and intellectually.
