Amanda Overmyer, American IdolAmerican Idol featured some very surprising results.  You can't completely argue with who was eliminated, but I thought it'd be someone else, and so did everyone else.  There was also one major surprise in the bottom three.  An American Idol singer who no one thought was even a bottom three possibility found herself there and I have no idea how it happened.  Maybe it will galvanize her fans going forward, or maybe it's indicative of a smaller fan base than we had anticipated.  Kellie Pickler performed, looking lovely, and acting as ditzy as ever.  Ryan Seacrest announced four mentors who will guest on American Idol at some point over the rest of the season, and we endured a ton of filler.

I'm shocked, but not upset. Honestly, David Cook, Brooke White and Jason Castro are the only three I enjoy watching and listening to, so as long as they stick around (and I think all can make the Top 5), I'm happy.

It's not that shocking - Amanda was going to go soon regardless. But, I'm pissed I'm 0-2 in my top 12 predicting.

KLC will go farther than many think. She is the hottest girl and the only country singer as well as being the most polarizing contestant. She handles herself well through criticism, both fair and unfair. I guarantee she will make the bottom three next week and survive again. I would much rather watch her, partially for the train-wreck effect, than a few of the other less interesting singers, (Carly, Ramielle).

Quite frankly, anyone could of gone this week. Everyone bored me to tears except Chikezee and David Cook. Amanda was a breath of fresh air at times, but she always looked bored to me. I guess American got bored with her.

I didn't watch the show. I may be done altogether, but definitely am done for the hour long results shows. I'm very surprised that Amanda was bounced. That means she doesn't make the tour and KL does. What the...? Ramiele too? If you were to buy tickets for this group, wouldn't Amanda add some interest?

I, wrongly, predicted Michael Johns because he's been utterly mediocre and I thought that D. Cook would appeal to the same voter base. I blew that. I can't fathom why anyone is voting for Ramiele, I'd actually like to see her booted off before KL.

Carly in the bottom 3 is rather shocking.

The Editor: I can understand, I guess, your liking Brooke - though I don't share the opinion - but Jason, I don't get at all. Do what Simon advised against and listen to his vocals without looking at the video. He was dread-ful on the 2 Beatles songs, couldn't hit the notes (or be particularly on key) on If I Fell and Michelle was goofy and open-mike amateurish. [every time I slam Jason, I get the thumbs down, come on folks!]

IMHO, this year has the worst contestants of any year I've watched. I may be done altogether, there is no one to support and the performances have been awful.

I wonder if Chikesie can turn Neil Diamond's Cracklin' Rose into a hoedown. Ugh!

Look assmondo, Ramiele has a pleasnt voice, I'd agree. That's not enough. Bad performances and no stage presence should get her the boot.
