Uh, aren't they supposed to improve from week to week? This was the worst Idol show I've endured. It was so bad that I can't even single out KL this week. Absolute dreck! I do think it's time to stop making them sing songs from 20 years before they were born. There was not a single connection last night. It was worse than watching the Baltimore Orioles play in Spetember ! I wasn't being facetious in my previous post; I could not assign a second best performance. Even the usually steady Carly was awful. And TheEditor: how Brooke's "Here Comes The Sun" didn't have you reaching for the barf bag amazes. And Castro continues to be dread-ful. I'm sorry, the dude can't sing. Far from the "most talented group ever"; this very well might be the worst.

Have to agree that it is time they stop forcing thedmto sign their grandparents music. That said, Carlyand D. Cook were ok. Don't understand why anyone liked Syesha - she bored me to tears - as noted last night, Archie is a young Andy Williams - the rest were just stuck in a bad time warp. I think Kristy is out of luck tonight but could be Eze, Rami or (I hope not) Amanda. Should be Michael.

I so agree. Let them sing something they and I assume the target audience can relate to.I think music works because it speaks to the time it was performed in. Leave us grandparents to our memories and let these young guys make their own ( and quit butchering somgs that they can't get) This group is soooo mediocre.I can't believe the judges are still keeping up the charade that they are the most talented. If someone doesn't step up soon it is going to be a very long season.

Why are they picking the most obvious (and tired0 Beatles songs? What about Amanda singing Helter Skelter, or Michael, David Cook, or Jason doing Dear Prudence, What about She\\\\'s leaving Home, or any number of Beatles songs which are fantastic and interesting musically? There were so many great songs to do that would have been more obscure, but would have been interesting, inspiring choices. Do we really need to hear Yesterday, Michelle, or Blackbird again? And A day in the Life is an iconic song for many reasons, none which could have been condensed in the amount of time the singers had to do a song. Come on people, make better choices!

I don't think people realize the process of song choice. My understanding is they have to write down three choices from a list (at least with the Beatles) and hope they get one of them.

I feel that if you wish to be in the music business -- you had better know your music history or be able to hire someone else who knows it (does anyone remember Avril Lavigne saying that she was a punk rocker -- yet she knew almost nothing about punk music? Annoying!). The Beatles are an intregal part of music history. Requiring the contestants to reinvent or simply cover these iconic songs 2 weeks in a row seems a little much to ask both the contestants and the audience to endure. I agree that theme nights should go away, that they be able to choose their own songs from the season's whole catalog instead of being stuck with a year or a genre. But I also feel that if someone is truly talented they should be able to perform well under any cir!@#!@stance. Of course we are all human and everyone is susceptible to mistakes and errors in judgement. It just seemed that almost every single contestant had some problem or another and that made for a very painful show to watch.

You would think The Beatles format would give Michael Johns a huge advantage since he knows their music so well, and his voice should fit their music better than the other contestants. Since he did not pull away during Beatles WeakS, he actually regressed, his "darkhorse" status is now gone. He is probably now a longshot to make the top 5.

The only interesting performances of the night were Castro and Chickezee (although he should have played the song straight). Carly, Johns and Ramielle were the worst. My predictions for the bottom three...Ramielle, KLC & Johns with Ramielle going home. I think Chickezzee is someone to watch. At 35-1 he may have been worth a flier.
