Did anyone else catch Amanda getting excited about meeting REO Speedwagon's lead singer? That just made me like her so much more, because I bet none of the other contestants, with the possible exception of David Cook, got excited about that.

VICTORY! Oscar may have gotten the bottom three all right (while I only got two), but I correctly predicted Hernandez would go when most people didn't. Week 1 in the epic John vs. Oscar battle: I'll call it a tie, but I think the advantage clearly goes to me.

Worst week ever. Everyone was a giant disappointment. Yes, they are doing the same theme next week. Yes, that was Sanjaya in the aud. Highlight of the show, seeing sanjaya and ryan not mentioning it at all.

I don't get why anyone would be upset. It's not like David H. was good or was actually going to give a great performance any time soon. Syesha is capable of a big, big song, and I firmly stand by my position that KLC's downfall was that hideous arrangement. Given a decent country-style song, she can be decent.

So, The great USA really doesn't like gay men I guess. Loved the fact Danny was with Rami's folks.

Editor, I don't know why you'd say that. Although David H wasn't my favorite, I'd definitely put him in my top 5 (with David C, Brooke, Carly, and Jason). I love his voice, particularly his ability to hold big notes with a minimum of melisma, and his rendition of Papa Was A Rolling Stone was pretty incredible. I agree about Kristy Lee, but I firmly believe that Syesha is as mediocre as this week's performance suggests and that she will continue to prove this as the weeks go on. I don't see her lasting much longer.

I live in CA, but had to hear a preview of the show first. I have always questioned how much the votes correlate with the results. David H was definitely bottom three, but not the worst or least popular (Syesha). His weak performance last night gave IDOL a way to get rid of a PR problem and regardless was and he was likely to get voted off within the next few spots anyway. IMO, the vote was close, but the producers wanted him off because 1) he lied to them about his past; 2) and more importantly he brought them bad publicity.
