David Cook was the number one performance last night, hands down. He is the most talented contestant on the show and the judges agree. He owns the stage when he performs and he certainly does not do karoke. He is a gifted songwriter. Check out www.davidcooktheamericanidol.com for some of his pre-idol music. Also, David-Cook.org. David Cook is a force to be reckoned with and regardless he will do well.

as a hard core beatle fan, i felt most of the night was hard to take... it was just "wrong"... and the revamped versions of most of the songs just proved why the beatles are the beatles... because you can't do better then the original... but some did better than most. I think kristy-lee should just plain be ashamed of herself... want a country twang... heck go for "act naturally"... I only hope Paul or Ringo wern't watching this!

My favorite performances for the night were: Chikezie, Carly, Amanda, and Jason C. Jason C. may not have the best vocals but he still won my heart with those beautiful eyes and dreads. I loved the way he sang the beginning of the song but the rest was a tad mediocre. Chikezie, Carly, and Amanda all added a unique twist to the song. I especially loved the bluegrass/southern rock feel of chikezie's performance. Carly and Amanda have great voices and seemed to get really into the song. Poor Achuleta, he's beginning to lose his smile due to the series of bad critiques. He's not my favorite singer but he's got a great personality with a cute face. Archuleta's voice is very limited; he can't sing notes that are too low or notes that are too high pitched. I suspect that either David H., Kristy, or Ramielle to go bye bye. As Simon once said long ago Ramielle "bored me to tears."

To The Editor:
don't generalize "teen girls" so much.
miley cyrus is hideously annoying. zac efron is most definitely a homosexual in my opinion. and david archuleta is nothing special.
and i'm a teen girl.

Oscar! You don\\\\'t like any covers of Come Together? I was commenting after watching the show that I liked Carly\\\\'s rendition of the song fine, but that it just didn\\\\'t compare to Aerosmith\\\\'s cover, which I\\\\'ve always thought only improved the song. If you don\\\\'t know that version, you really should hear it!

Yeah, I know the Aerosmith version and don't like that either, so Carly's performance was probably hopeless for me.

Poor David A. What a bad performance. I hope he is safe. He has done so great up to this point. I hope the fans remember all of those previous GREAT performances!! I think he is great and so young at that. I heard the other contestants just ignore him or are plain rude to him. Too bad, I think they are just jealous. I love Michael Johns, Jason, David Cook and Brooke. And was Simon being a jerk to Ryan or what? Of course Ryan didn't seem to care tonight so much.
