American Idol named its Top 12 last night, with four singers coming oh-so-close but ultimately falling just a bit short.  Danny Noriega, Asiah Epperson, Luke Menard and Kady Malloy were all sent home during Thursday's American Idol Results Show.  None of the eliminations were much of a surprise and it's safe to say that, even if any of these four had made the Top 12, none of them had any sort of chance at winning the entire thing.  That being said, I felt that both Danny and Kady have the potential to be minor stars in their own right.  Those two were hurt by poor song choices and the inability to find their niche quickly enough.  Asiah has a good voice, but it's nothing special.  Luke, I'm sad to say, probably won't be heard from again.  He's a good guy, though.  All four eliminated singers took questions during a series of conference calls earlier today, and I was there to jot down the highlights.

Luke and Danny both rule, so much more than Chikezie and Hernandez. I especially love Noriega's answer about the video being so long ago, back when he was a different person. Many kids go through that awkward teenage phase and grow out of it just as quickly, so he's still aces in my book. And Luke's wife going on TPIR is amazingly cool of her, and emphasizes the whole Menard attitude of "Whatever, we're just normal people doing our thing."
