My predictions this week (drum roll):

Guys: Menard & Noriega
Gals: Epperson & KL Cook

I have a lower confidence this week though, after being 6 for 8 so far. There are a lot of factors:

* Will the gay stripper revelation send Hernandez packing?

* Has Amanda turned everyone off?

* Can cuteness save Malloy and Malubay from blandness?

* Does Chekesie's competent but unspectacular performances keep him around?

I agree carjean. I might go see Brooke White and Jason Castro perform for free on open mic night somewhere, but I can't imagine them being considered American Idols.

Yep, horrible performances of awful songs. As I feared. My ears are still bleeding.

In all fairness, would you actually buy the CDs from any of these people? To some people, I guess this show is all about the end result, but for me, it's about Idol qua Idol (I always wanted an excuse to use that). Who do you most want to see on your TV every week singing? The answer is: Castro, White, David Cook and Danny Noriega. I don't really give a flying fig about the rest, but those four are always fun to watch.

You can choose elimination from these, I really don't care:

Not good enough class:
Asiah Epperson
Ramiele Malubay
Danny Noriega
Chikezie Eze

Boring class:
Kristy Lee Cook
Kady Malloy
David Hernandez

Ultra boring class:
Jason Castro
Brooke White

Insane class:
Amanda Overmyer

BuddyD are on the same page with the Idol girls. Yes, John, thank you for saying that Amanda wasn't as great as Simon tried to make her out to be. Last week, he called her out for being a total fake - which she is. I don't buy her look or attitude for a second. I'm glad BuddyD doesn't like Brooke either, I'm just not a fan at all.

I don't beleive that Amanda is a fake, but I think her limited voice and musical style are not Idol material. As for style the goth/punk thing isn't going to work with the Idol audience. Last year they coached Gina to remove the tongue stud, I can't beleive that Amada's get-up last week was welcomed at all.

What's worse is that she looks disinterested in this whole thing now, much like Chris Sligh did last year, though it took him a lot longer. I think even more of her limited Idol audience will pick up on this and tune her out.

I don't see her going home this week - the mediocrity pool is too deep - but I wouldn't be surprised.

I really think Kristy Lee is coasting on looks. Her performances haven't been that good and she has strange moves and expressions--although better than week 1. I think she and Kady or Asia'h should go. But Kristy probably won't go yet. She'll last a week or two in the top 12--maybe long enough to tour, maybe not.
