Well, I'll say this. This was the most surprising dual elimination I've ever seen on Idol. I guess it just shows that it really is a crap shoot at this point.

Note to the ladies: DO NOT SING SLOW, QUIET BALLADS. Sing an up-tempo song, and if not, make it a power ballad. Otherwise, you're gone.

You can't say that YEager's or Overmyer's performances this week were worse than Kady's last night. Sorry. Or, for that matter, Garrett Haley's lone performance, which was on par with the worst of Sanjaya.

I'd say the single worst performance of the past two weeks was that Amy girl who got eliminated last week, but we've all completely forgotten about that already

Oh good, it was Robbie! His Hot Topic "rocker" persona and his broke ass weave were eye roll-worthy. His whole boy band to rocker transformation reminded me of Nick Carter's failed attempt to do the same many years ago.

HA, that's the first time anyone has referenced Nick Carter in about three years. Robbie was gonna go sooner or later, but wow, 1/4 Oscar? I shouldn't talk, since I only got 2. Last week was pretty solid, but this week, we're in for a bumpy road.

Tip of the hat to TheEditor for predicting Amanda's safety. I do have to brag a little about predicting 3 of 4. His reasoning on Amanda was dead on, my reasoning on Alexandrea was that I didn't think she had a voter base. Blame part of that on Idol for her invisibility until last week. I do agree that the wrong 2 women walked, I think Amanda and Katy should have gone based on performance. I have zero problem with the 2 guys who were bounced. TheEditor is also correct that the judges crucify anyone who does a slow song - unless it's one of the pre-annointed ones. That stinks.

I may have to skip 80s week. I don't think I have the constitution for Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Phil Collins covers. It's gonna reek.
