Quite the turnaround this week on American Idol. In the Top 24, it was the women who shined and the men who served up a large helping of mediocrity. This week, in the Top 20, it was the reverse. The American Idol judges say it over and over again, but it cannot be stressed enough: song choice is just about the most important part of the competition. For the most part, all of these people can sing and, given the correct song, can win over America. If it's the wrong choice, even if you're a great singer, you may just stamp your ticket home. Despite some fans being quite certain that so and so will be sent packing tomorrow night, for the ladies, there are definite question marks. There are five ladies that have a legitimate shot of being eliminated tonight. To read the rest, click here.

I think they all pretty much sucked. It felt like talent night at a high school. Based on performance I think at least 5 of them should go home.Special standouts for me would be Kady and Amanda.

I predict: Guys: Yeager and Carrico Gals: Overmeyer and Lushington The last, not because I dislike her, but doubt that she has a voter base. Overmeyer because that performance was a train wreck and she looks disinterested. Unless the VFTW crowd has an impact.

I would really like it if Kristy Lee Cook went home. She does that whole squatting while singing thing that really bugs. Justin Guarini did it too and I found him unbearably arrogant, cheesy, fake and dull.

I know you said Asia'h was the worst minute of singing since the top 24 started. I would have to say the worst minute(s) would be Amanda from last night. That made my ears bleed. Asia'h was really good last week, and I think she will survive tonight.

Does anyone wonder if they made Amanda do that song? She looked rather p1ssed during and after the performance. As I said before, the 70's had a great blues-rock vibe going, one would have thought that would be a natural for her.

Jazzy that could be true. It's so lame that a show would tell the contestant what song they HAVE to sing.

Oscar, I think you're 3/4 streak is over. Jason and Chikezie (he'll be the surprise), Alaina and Kady.

Weezer17: Garrett Haley claims that he was forced to sing Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, that he was refused his 3 choices. I'm wondering the same about Amanda. She really looked resigned during the whole thing.

Hey Editor, why do you think Amanda survives? Discounting last night's horror, this show has always favored pop over anything harder.
