The 80th Annual Academy Awards: The Best and Worst of the Red Carpet

The 2007 Academy Awards were on last night, and to be honest, I found it a snoozefest. The Oscars are so long and tedious and self-important. Even if I agree with who gets the awards or not, I don't ever enter Oscar pools, so I don't have a whole lot riding on the hours-long event anyway.

But what I do love watching are all the beautiful gowns that the actresses wear on the red carpet. It's my one bit of celeb envy. I wish that I regularly had fabulous gala events to attend, while wearing custom-made gowns costing thousands of dollars, too. And because Schadenfreude is my middle name, I also love to criticize the hideousness that some stars insist on wearing. I'm sure you'll agree, it's more fun to criticize the bad looks anyway.

i thought heidi klum's dress was terrible it was so big and akward

They always say that red dresses look best when worn by tall legged , beautiful blonde models. Heide Klum looks good in anything she wears. But the red dress worn by her does seem so long and stretched outward. I wonder if her husband SEAL the singer stepped on her dress?

Love Heidi's dress. It's so stunning! Looks perfectly regal from all angles. Galliano certainly creates high drama needed for such occasion... J'adore him always!

Yeah, I think Heidi Klum's dress is too big, and I'm still shocked Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar. That's like the Oscar embarrassment of the century.

The Oscars were absolutely disappointing! I had more fun watching the SAG awards than this! The fashions were horrid, most everyone looked like they just heard about the awards like 2 hours before they began and just came in whatever they could find or have shipped to them! Tilda! WTF! Nobody looks good in velveteen. Nobody! Daniel Dey-Lewis and his wife looked like they were trying a bit too hard to be glamorous! I mean what was up with the Xmas bows? Johnny looked good, but all I could see were his gf's bright red lips! I've been quite kind to her on other pages, but the fact remains, those lips had to go. If she wanted to go goth, then she should have taken it the Angelina Jolie way and threw on the black lip liner and stick and a vial of JD's blood! Jesus woman! And had the nerve to wear black stockings! She should have just showed up in one of those tent things muslim women wear, the kind that you only see their eyes! Would have been an improvement!

I think Heidi's dress itself is nice but when it is put on Heidi, somehow she looks so much taller like some giant and the colour isn't that right. That's just for me.
