I love it when American Idol busts out the themed nights. Which one do you guys like the best/ recommend should be on the show?

We got:
Country
Diana Ross
Rock
British Invasion
Alternative songs
Love songs
Latin
Inspirational songs

add your own themes if I missed any.

Imight be one of the few but I really like "Standards" night where they sing the oldies. They didn't really have a Standards night this year. I guess they felt Andrew Lloyd Weber was close enough.

I'm not really a fan of the theme nights. All singers don't sing all genres of songs, and they will not record in all genres so I think it's stupid to judge them in a genre that they are not good at, and don't/won't sing. If they want to have special nights have them a time period night, ie the 70's etc. That way they can still showcase their talents, their voices without punishing them for something they will never do.

That's a good point, Ive never thought of it that way. I thought it was fun for the audience but your right- it must be so hard for the singers to sing songs that they know they are not good at.

I guess the judges are looking for if the singer - regardless of what song/theme- can make it work for them in their own unique way.

Heres a good song that the contestants can sing. It's by Bev Mahood and it talks about positive body image. Songs with these messages would be refreshing to see since there are a lot of young girls and boys in the audience .
