Default Simon's just being bitchy

I agree...I think Simon was just getting back at David for his remark about the rules of the competition. And while it was probably unwise of David to do that, Simon overreacted. I find myself often agreeing with Simon, but on this he's dead wrong. He should not bully contestants. He's one of the judges, not THE JUDGE. He needs to lighten up a little.

I was not a fan of David's at first. He did come off as a bit arrogant and aloof. I wonder if that was just nerves? But he won be over BIG TIME with his version of the Smokey Robinson song "Hello". Even Simon was bowled over, as is only right. Great arrangement, great vocals. It's been stuck in my mind ever since...And I don't want to get rid of it. Except maybe to make room for "Eleanor Rigby"! He hit it out of the park again! I think David's the one to beat, but I'm not sure if anyone can. GO DAVID!!!

David Cook redition of Eleanor Rigby is not his own. That arrangement was developed and recorded by the Tacoma, Washington blues band "Doxology" Cook's performance did that song note for note in exacally the same way as performed by "Doxology" For people to say this redition is very unique need to look at the news link at www.king5.com for the real story.

Default David does it again

Wow! Another solid, great performance for DC. Smart, interesting arrangement, great vocals, as always. I was a little annoyed by Simon's nitpicking. What the hell does he mean when he tells a contestant that they aren't as good as they think they are? Can he read minds? He should stick to judging and leave the gratuitous snotty remarks at home. Maybe he'd gotten so used to hearing crappy performances that he'd lost the ability to hear a great one. The two Davids and Syesha gave the only good performances of the night.

David cook is the for real deal. We should clarify his home town is Blue Springs, MO and is living in Tulsa, OK. He is a sincere deep guy who is laid back and easy going. There is so much more to this guy that will come out over time. He DESERVES to be our next American Idol besides his amazing talent!

Even though I live in England and can't vote for American Idol, as Simon said...
"If this competition was purely a talent contest rather than a popularity contest... You'd have the talent to win this show."
