Jordin Sparks wins American Idol

Jordin Sparks, the 17-year old from Glendale, Arizona, has won season six of American Idol. Tonight's epic two-hour finale was a suspenseful one but, in the end, it was Jordin who beat Blake Lewis, the finalist from Bothell, Washington. Jordin was the overwhelming favorite to win the competition coming into the finale but, as fans of Idol know, anything can happen. However, it was the favorite Jordin who America gave their votes to and she is the newest winner of American Idol.

they are both winners.
well its really up to them now to boost their career. Chris daughtry is more famous and successful than Taylor so who knows. The title American Idol can only get you so far.

At least Jordin, a singer won AI (no votes from me). However the best singer by far was Melinda. Jordin will not have the staying power of Kelly or Carrie so I hope she takes advantage of the time she has. Blakes career will be even shorter, so he needs to go for the bucks and enjoy his moment of fame. He will get real old real fast, except for the teens who don't get it. He is more the Las Vegas headliner show type. I expect to hear Melinda Doolittle for years to come. She will have a specific market audience but because of her great singing ability, can sing a variety of genres, so will be able to change as the market changes. Best of luck to all, espcially Melinda. Also hope to hear more from Phil and Lakisha as well. I think AI needs to consider changing the voting method to more like Dancing with the Stars where the judges, who are in the business and know what it takes to make it, count for 50% of the vote. What do you think?
