The table is set. Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis are our two, quasi-unlikely finalists and their face-off tonight will play a part in deciding the American Idol champion. The conclusion, however, may very well be foregone (barring, of course, a monumental choke by one of the two singers on live television tonight.) There probably isn't a significant population of undecided voters still out there, and the two performers are going to have a difficult time swaying viewers to their side at this late juncture. Blake and Jordin are so vastly different in their styles that it doesn't really make sense to compare and contrast the two. If you're a Jordin fan, no matter what Blake does tonight, your sensibilities will still lie in the Jordin camp, and vice versa. For all the uproar over Melinda Doolittle's elimination from the show, this final two is the right final two. They are both viable commercial entities. If this sounds cynical, it isn't meant to. Melinda was a great singer, but not much else. She was a little boring, but everyone liked her, so people fooled themselves into believing that she might actually win this thing. Melinda didn't stand a chance. To read the rest, click here.

The comment about Doolittle was correct. She had little stage presence while Blake and Jordan are magnetic. Jordan is my favorite for several reasons. She has always had the best voice and presentation of all contestants. She has a very likable personality. Blake may edge her out if the girl tweens and teens get behind him. I don't see him as a hearthrob but what do I know. In any case, either one is a winner and will have a very successful career. I can't wait to find out. Fred

Jordin is just as boring as Melinda was and she has that annoying fake personality. Blake is fresh and exciting. When I think of which album i'd buy between the two it would definitely be Blake's. What on earth can Jordin bring that any other singer hasn't already done to death? *yawn! Blake is the pick!

AI has to recoup the $$$ they lost on Taylor. So, IMHO, they (i.e. the AI producers) GAVE the title to Jordin long before audience votes mattered (yes Virginia AI is rigged). All's good though - Blake, Melinda, and even KiKi will get record contracts as did Elliot, Chris, Bucky, and the rest of the runner ups did last season.

Simeon: LOL, last year was the highest rated in terms of audience, and more audience, means more money for Fox/AI, and quess who was the man with the "golden grabb from the balls" in last year, yes Taylor Hicks. This year has been first season when audience ratings has fallen, and I blame that for Blake Lewis who makes every song soooo boooooooring with exact same whine with no feeling at all.

I feel that this season has definetely been a good season, I know season 5 had higher viewer ratings but both are finalists are better than Taylor and Jordin has a better voice than Katherine IMHO. Blake is my favourtie because along with Chris Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood he is contemporary enough to survive in the music business. AI often suffers from having contestants who sing songs that are very dated and often this means that commercial success can be difficult. Blake is something new and he makes songs interesting. But i don't think I want him to win because he'll be forced into a pop album with songs about unicorns and rainbows etc. and lose a lot of his chance to be creative. Also Jordin could definetely benefit more from an AI album. Blake's the best and is my favourite but I don't want him to win.

Blake's fans are in it for the long haul. Once Jordin's little teeny bopper/playground kiddie fans get distracted with something else, she'll be forgotten. Blake is a serious musician and will keep putting out new and fresh music for his fans and will have a much longer career than Jordin. There are too many female singers trying to break into the singing world already and Jordin has nothing new or differnt to set her apart from the rest.

I am tired of people getting on here and writing comments that say "I am done with AI" "I am never watching it again" "blah, blah, blah" If you hate it so much then actually stop watching it, stop commenting on its blogs, and just stop annoying the crap out of us! The point of the show is voting your favorite...if your favorite didn't win, then get the hell over it! Go Blake!!!!!
