Blake Lewis Will Win American Idol

Blake Lewis has a better than average chance of winning American Idol, and no it has nothing to do with Vote for the Worst. The fact of it is, Blake brings a quirky self-ness to the contest that Jordin Sparks has no weapon against. Yes, we will argue ad nauseam about who is the ‘better singer’ of the two, but the fact of the matter is that vocal ability is only part of what makes for an American Idol champion. No doubt, some will pivot the laser beam on commercial appeal; yeah, ask Chris Daughtry if that equation makes any sense, or better yet, ask Taylor Hicks.

Of course I want people to keep voting for Blake but at the same time I kinda don't want Blake to win because I fear Clive will try and turn him into a carbon copy JT or something equally as heinous.....

Well spoken. I have hope again. Jordin's voice is not that great. She sings those old songs perfectly, but if you listen to the newer songs, like "Hey Baby" and even "Rhythm is gonna get you" she sounds worse than Blake does on Bee Gees Night. The producers are not going to let her put out a cd with old songs, so even if she does win her fans will be disappointed.

Now every body knows that Blake can't out sing Malinda and the votes was miscounted. Unless American Idol is fixed to pick who they feel they want to win. Becuase Blake can't out sing Malinda Doolittel on a BAD DAY. all I have to say American Idol you did it again, you let a great get away. And we all know that is should be Malinda and Jordin for next week stand off!!!!

Sweet C get over it. Melinda went home. Big deal. She is probably going to get a record deal anyways. Blake has a great voice plus the pazazz. Jordin is also amazing. Yes Melinda has a great voice, but she isn't cut out for the competition. If you havent already realized, the best voice doesnt always win. There's more to it than that. The look, the attitude and the voice all play an equal part.

I highly doubt that vote was fixed. This is american idol and you know everybody votes for the pretty girl and then blake has a huge female fan base as well. It will be a popularity contest for most part. I do believe blake may not be the strongest singer but he is the best performer, he can work and audience and can change it up. Jordan comes out and sings the song, well i might add. But at the end of the day its who connects with the audience best. And Blake wins that hands down.

Hey Jon, TV writer, you should know better than using phraseology like "anti-thesis," "paraodx" and "finite components of aesthetics" for American Idol watchers. Come on, we're talking people who move their lips when they read TV Guide and the National Enquirer. AI certainly knows its audience. How about those Idol trivia questions? Ryan Seacrest has Taylor Hicks, Elliot Yamin and Kelly Pickler on the screen and queries: "Which of the following is a female?" And probably 50% of those answers are wrong. Pity Jon, his parents blew a load on his college education and he's trying to make hay about a juvenile Karaoke show. Accept their humiliation, and yours, and say stuff like: Blake is sooooo cool!"

Blake and "great" are two words which do not go together. Clive Davis couldn't turn Blake into JT even if he wanted to--there's not much there to work with. Blake is a poor man's version of Justin Timberlake with barely an iota of JT's skills and charisma. Win or lose, Blake will go the way of Taylor Hicks and Ruben--a number Idol single, 15 minutes of fame, then fade into irrelevance. Actually, he will have a career--singing to little girls in shopping malls. Truth is, this season is pretty much forgettable. Season 7 can't come soon enough.
