Shocked as I was initially upon hearing the results... the votes reflected that of the large demographic that the show mostly targets at ~ no surprises there. Not many Idol winners have successful careers. Melinda's a class act she'll end up with a record deal anyway.

I"m sorry last night totally ruined it for me. Melinda hands down is the winner of this singing competition. Jordin has pizzaz yes at 17 quite impressive, and Blake a good entertainer. But Melinda had that extra something and a voice like I've never heard! She has paid her dues, it was hers to win. IT sucks that she was sent home!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just heart broken, angry and frustrated. I'm sure she'll go on and do well in herlife, but it's like the presidentail election fixed.

I know one thing... we cried here in Canada because Melinda was gone..She is so important to Canada. She is an excellent singer and Performer.that sings with her heart and soul...to be gone so soon.. I am done watching American Idol!!! It must be the same people who voted for George Bush..Would ya say?

I am so shocked! Melinda is a great performer. People only vote on looks. They clearly didn't realize that Melinda is a great singer. All the girls vote for Blake and the guys vote for Jordan because they have the looks, not the talent. If anything, I would die to meet Melinda, maybe not die, but I would be honored if I could meet her.
Every single week i voted for Melinda, knowing that she has talent. I don't judge people on looks but on the way the perform, their voice is the most important thing.....If not than why is it called 'American Idol' because it's a singing competition, not a beauty pagent.
There was a guy on there in the begining of the season, he had the long beard...Aparently, Simon, Paula, and Randy go on looks. I used to watch American idol before there was discrimination.... For all i know is that the judges can rot in hell...same with the people who voted for Blake and Jordan.
I rest my case!

Melinda Doolittle just releases a song on i tunes My Funny Valentine. Soon she will released her first album June of 2008. You her fans. www.melindafan.net where is the fresh new. That the place who they have blog radio show with Melinda once a month or two. IF you want to support her come there. She is amazing singers right now she doing Dreyer's Ice cream tour
