I truly enjoyed this show up until this season.
There have been some great Idols. However, this season it appears that the younger kids are voting. It's a popularity contest.
Maybe, it's time the judges had half the votes. Then it may stand a chance.

I think we are all forgetting the fact that Simon, Paula and Randy put Sanjaya through before the public was even voting. This should never have happened because, seriously, he has not talent. So this makes me feel like the show is rigged. And this is the reason I will no longer watch it, because we have some seriously talented people who came to the show that are being voted off because of some kind of publicity stunt. Although the show is proving to be borderline fake, the tears these people cry are real. And I refuse to support a show that does this to innocent people with real dreams. The show is now a joke.

SanjayaUPDATED - After having a few hours to digest Gina's elimination last night, the masses are still letting their voices be heard.  We've had an overwhelming number of comments since last night's show, and we've decided to post the best comments from all of our users.

American Idol moves into it's Top 8 with one singer (Sanjaya Malakar) who doesn't have any business being there and one other who is getting by on her skimpy outfits (Haley Scarnato).  Phil Stacey sticks around despite giving everyone a mediocre performance last night.  The eliminated singer, Gina Glocksen, was truly one of the better pure singers on the show, but apparently that doesn't count for much at this point.

It's not so much that Sanjaya is still alive that is frustrating, it's the fact that he's not even sniffing elimination.  For the second week in a row, Sanjaya wasn't even in the bottom three!!!  How is that possible?  Anyway, all you readers out there seem to be up in arms as well, as evidenced by your comments on our recent American Idol articles, especially tonight's American Idol: Top 9 Results Show Quick Thoughts.  Here is a sampling of what all you BuddyTV users have had to say about tonight's show:

If Sanjaya or Halley win this year, I will, like Simon, NOT be back watching and I have really enjoyed this show. I was really upset to think the likes of Taylor Hicks won last year, I did not think the best of the best won but, this year it is becoming a real joke. Everyone that I talk to (because we are all adults not teenie boppers or men and boys looking at short skirts and legs) all say the same thing. That if these two win or go to the top, this show is no longer putting out the best of the best, and votefortheworst.com is doing it's job. This is a travesity. And, I think that maybe the way a winner is picked might have to be 75/25. Since the ones (the judges) that know real talent are not being taken into consideration. If I were them, I wouldn't even be there. They are really looking stupid -- when they are there because of their knowledge and abilities and what they have to say isn't even considered any longer. I think this show is really becoming a real joke. And. I

Yo dude check this out, lol. Anyway, Im a little late to this party, this is the first year I've EVER watched AI, and I'm HOOKED! So my viewpoint my be alittle fresher about this Sanjaya controversy. I've now caught up on some of the previous years shows, and guess what, THIS ISNT JUST A SINGING COMPETETION! As with anything, the show has grown into something much more than just singing. I know there are alot of purist out there that want it to be that, but the show has grown into an entertainment competetion, like it or not. I've watched pervious winners now and they had more than just outstanding voices also! You also have to find your nich in the voting pool, and like it or not Sanjaya has found it! The three outstanding voices in the females will eventually eliminate each other because they are in the same group, Haley (im not surpised she didnt go home) has her own nich. Chris and Blake are in a nich together, Phil is by himself, and Sanjaya has his own. And guess who votes

Gina's gone and Sanjaya stays??? The only thing that makes me not tear my hair out is the knowledge that Gina (and all the others already voted off) have better than a snowball's chance in h%ll of actually having a singing career. All the little teenyboppers who are voting for Sanjaya now will forget him as soon as his face isn't on the screen every week.....Note to American Idol: perhaps this will convince you to change it up next year - let the voters decide who the WORST is...the best will stay by default.

Is the show rigged? dahhhh, as if the voting public votes to put a new singer into a Different music category every year.....dahhhhh!
Is the show rigged? dahhhh, there isn't a soul on this earth of ours that could convince me there wasn't a rocker dude in over 100,000 auditioners this year that wasn't good enough to make the grade! Make no mistake about it, Chris Daughtry last year scared the be-jesus out of American Idol, actually scared them so bad the producers only put male pop-tarts on this year! Any male vocalist that could have possibly gone hard rock on them this year has long been axed!!!!!
Is the show rigged? dahhhh, as if Katharine McPhee last year was a better singer then Paris Bennett - WTF.....dahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Is the show rigged? dahhhh, don't kid yourself, advertising dollars speaks volumes when it comes to content!!! dahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
