American Idol - Stephanie EdwardsStephanie Edwards' dismissal from the American Idol proceedings last night was met with mild surprise and general indifference.  It's gotten to a point where no one is surprised that Sanjaya is still around, and unless the eliminated singer has the potential to win the whole thing, there really isn't much to get upset about.  Unfortunately, this seemed to be the mood with Stephanie's departure from the program.

Since last night's elimination episode, countless newspaper and online articles have attempted to trumpet the elimination as a “surprise” or a “shocker”, but it really wasn't.  Yes, it's still shocking that Sanjaya is still on the show, but it's become clear that he's created some phenomenon that is beyond the comprehension of a mere mortal like me.  So, on that front we just have to move on.  For Stephanie Edwards, I'm having a hard time feeling much of anything after her elimination.

I live and Savannah. I heard her perform several times with her stage name uniek. She sound like Beyonce' and I don't care that she got voted off b/c she wouldn't have won regardless. Yes she's beautiful and sound better than Haley,Sanjaya etc, but they were more interesting to me. Haley knows how to entertain. Sanjaya won over the crowd with his looks, and Steph didn't have a chance against Melinda, Jordin, or Lakisha.

How is Sanjaya still in the competition? His performance last week of the Kinks song was an absolute gong show! He was manic, the gravel he forced into his voice was, well, forced. He looked like he would fall down. His tune was way off. I wonder if he'd ever heard that song before last week? He looked like he was performing for a highschool talent show. All he needed was an "air band" behind him to complete the picture. Sanjaya is honestly among America's top ten new talents? Please make it stop!! Is the voting fixed or something? He is in no way a better talent than Stephanie!! What is going on here?

Until the producers find a way to stop the show from being hijacked by idiots like Howard Stern, the show will soon cease to exist, there is no credibility left in the voting at all. Sanjaya is a joke that is costing those chasing a serious dream.

Since this contest has come down to Jordin, Melinda and Lakeisha or Chris it does not matter who gets voted of when. All the rest will have to go sometime.
Stephanie will be able to get her career started now without having to go on that lame Summer Tour.

VoteForTheWorst has obviously impacted this show, and it's a travesty that Stephanie's gone, and Sanjaya remains. I agree that the mockery that's being made of this show may fell it.

I think america made a bad choice when they sent stephanie home. She was one of the best singers in the competition, who they should of sent home was that sanjaya guy. I dont think his voice could ever compare to stephanies own. My words of encouragement to stephanie what God has for you nnnnnnnnnnnooooooooo man can take it away so keep trying and remember that the sky is the limit baby!
