Howard Stern Wants Sanjaya to Win American Idol

Is it because of call centres in India? DialIdol? Votefortheworst.com? Or is it all a big con by the show's producers to create more buzz? Speculation runs rampant about just exactly how Sanjaya Malakar has managed to stay in the running so far on American Idol, as he's clearly lacking in the talent displayed by even the worst of the other contestants.

Now it turns out radio shock jock Howard Stern has been encouraging all of his Sirius satellite radio listeners on The Howard Stern show to vote for the worst contenders in this season's American Idol, with Sanjaya Malakar first on the list. The self-proclaimed "King of All Media" Stern says Sanjaya is his "favorite contestant," and would like it if he won, precisely because Sanjaya is annoying and has no ability to sing.

i think sanjay's performance last week was so awful.i think he should be eliminited last week.i love lakisha and malinda.their performances were so outstanding!!!

I think you're all losing sight of the fact that his sister is hot. I mean, smoking hot! It's important to prioritize. Vote Pedro.

One way to be fair is voting to reject a contestant instead of voting for your favorite - eliminating the contestant who gets the highest # of votes.

Sanjaya can sing pretty well but not well enough. He is not going to win this contest! He really is a trooper, with all this (negative?) publicity, though.

Actually, amazing to see & hear that Sanjaya wasn't the worst singer this week! The girl with the red streak on her hair was. And Lakisha??..ugh! Cubic Circonia version of "Diamonds Are Forever!!!

I saw Sanjaya tonight and he was great!! I loved it. he may not be as good as some of the others but he was certainly entertaining. Go Sanjaya!!!

This kid has heart! He's not conceited and phony, just truly a good kid with a great personality. He knows he's not the best singer, but damm he still comes out for his fans and gives it his all. Go Sanjaya, I want you to win because your smile is contaigious and you're a breath of fresh air among all the teens of today. Your parents can hold their heads up with pride, they did a great job raising you.
