Paula AbdulWhile no one was terribly surprised with Antonella Barba's leaving American Idol last week, many were stunned by Jason "Sundance" Head's elimination, including the judges.

"I was openly shocked with Sundance leaving," says Abdul, who thought he had a chance to win. "It breaks my heart."

I am truly disappointed with this year's American Idol my husband and I are very faithful watchers of the show and we think this is the last year to watch. Since Sundance was voted off my husband quit watching I'm into it I have to continue it out but I'm not sure whats going on but I don't think people realize it's a singing contest not a kiddie contest. I'm with Simon if malakar wins I'm DONE. People aren't voting for the singing it's something else. Who Knows I guess we all will see in the end. Oh Yeah Simon rock on my kids love the Tele Tubbies

American Idol is not a show to be taken seriously anymore. How did a guy like Sanjaya get in the top 24 in the first place? Because the producers want a good, diverse "ethnic mix" to show they're being politically correct. So others who were much better singers are turned away so they can have exactly the right "mix" in the top 24.

Also, they know in advance who they want to win, and they push that person from the start. They don't want the same "type" to win each year, so they're going to push those who are the OPPOSITE of a bleached blond/ country Carrie Underwood type. That's why they kept downing Kellie Pickler, even though she had the talent to win.

It's time to take Idol off the air. How can we do this? By voting repeatedly for the person who has the least singing talent - this will weaken Idol's credibility, and its popularity and advertising base will fade away.
So we should all vote for Sanjaya and hope he makes it all the way. Then Idol will be in the awkwa

(above comment continued)
Then Idol will be in the awkward position of having to offer a record deal and promote a guy who can't sing!
They made their bed, and now they'll have to lie in it.
So vote vote vote for Sanjaya, he's the idol the show deserves.

Sundance should not have been eliminated, but neither should Jared or Sabrina. Really unfair, but it was probably because people don't bother to vote for some of the "safe" ones. I agree that the producers "steer" the vote so that they have a different type of winner each season. Maybe Sundance was too much like Taylor Hicks. Sabrina was totally robbed. I hope to see Jared somewhere. He was hot!

Face it. Good performers have their hopes bashed for the entertainment of a small number of morons with too much time on their hab=nds like those who follow VFTW.

The producers let the "Vote for the worst" votes count much more than they should... because it is good TV... who cares about dashing a talent's dreams.

Simple solution. The lowest 3 vote getters (or later 2) are identified and the judges... not the off voters get to dump the no talents.

The 35 million votes advertised by the Idols producers are really an interesting numer. Most go to legit talents. But the bottom few get votes in the thousands not millions and therefore it is easy for the VFTW crowd to influence the low end. Their influence is greatly diminshed to zero when the last 4-5 are announced as theire are so many votes for each that the votes generated by the VFTW can't change anythhing. And now you know the secret of the vote.

Sundance....you rock. My family and I are all big fans. Really shocked you were voted off. Sundance needs to keep singing and come out with an album. We will all be in line to buy it.
