American Idol: Top 8 Girls, Performance Grades

Oh, you American Idol ladies. I pity most of you. It's over. It's a two-woman race, and there's no way that's going to change. Melinda Doolittle and Lakisha Jones will be fighting it out to the end. No one else has a chance. I'm trying not to be cynical here, but Melinda and Lakisha just have a million times more to offer than even the next best singer (Jordin Sparks). Some of the girls may end up turning in great performances, but their peak isn't close to the heights Melinda and Lakisha have already hit on their worst nights.

Like so many of the women especially Melinda! But wanted to say that Stephanie is only 19!!! She is so young. Everyone seems to point out Jordin's age (17) but Stephanie is very young also but appears years older in maturity and delivery.

Antonella: You have had no formal training. You are young. So invest in some voice coaching and come back next year. You belong in the top 25, but you do not belong in the top 6. It is VERY clear that you are outclassed at the moment.

You'd be amazed what a year can do for your vocal maturity if you spend that year dedicated to improving instead of partying. Dump the guido from Jersey and focus on your career.

im done watching american idol. sundance you should of moved on hayley and sanjaya needed to go. im done with american idol this season

I think it's a shame to keep Sanjaya, Because he can't sing worth a DAMN! He needs to go home.I realy don't want to see or hear him next week.LET'S GET REAL HERE!.

Does American Idle accept calls from over seas (India)
That is the only way that this "Sanjaya" is still on the show.
Every Indian in the world must be calling in to vote for him.
What a joke this show has become. I will never watch this show again.
Also, get some new judges. They are a terrible judge of talent.

I couldn't agree more. Melinda and Lakisha, in my opinion, if it matters, are in a league of their own. I am not saying this to put the others down, it's just a fact! I also think that these two women are basically, toooooo good for American Idol! Bravo ladies and although there can be only 1 American Idol, You are both so very talented, I give my Hat's off, standing ovation, etc.. to both of you.

does anyone else entertain the idea that this is all so scripted and contrived? I believe the whole 'Sanjaya/Haley/shouldnt be in the top 12 thing' is planned from the get-go. Lots of contoversy and chatter make for good ratings. Listen People, if you think Fox/Idol would really allow "America" to pick their money-maker, you are out of touch. They have their wimmer from the onset of the show then lead you to believe there is a competion. Wake up, America
