Ambyr Childers Leaves 'All My Children'

The Pine Valley landscape will once again change somehow when one of the characters on All My Children takes on a fresh new look next week. Beginning May 7, Colby Chandler will appear older as incoming Brianne Moncrief takes over for the departing Ambyr Childers.

According to Childers, the decision to leave the soap was hers, citing career development as the reason. However, insiders from the All My Children camp indicate that her exit is actually a result of storyline progression.

I was just beginning to like Colby! I still have trouble with Rebecca being back as Greenlee cause I loved Sabine Singh! What are they doing over there?

I agree. I just started liking Colby as well. But I guess they need to age her if they want to set her up with Frankie.

Wow, ok this is my 1st post so Hi all, I have always liked Colby, well, I guess not always. I think she has matured sense being on the show. Why do they need to age her, how old is she? Then how old is Frankie supposed to be?

well Colby had her sweet sixteen last summer, I believe. So she'd be a little young for Frankie, who is around 25.

I'm not buying the aging thing. This new actress looks exactly like the old one. She is at least appearence wise, exactly who I would pick to play Colby if the current actress quit. She does not appear to be any older than the original Colby to me. The age of the two is close enough that if there is any truth to the aging thing, they could have kept the Ambyr and just changed her dress and makeup.

I agree. I just started liking Colby as well..........I have always liked Colby, well, I guess not always. I think she has matured sense being on the show.
