24: Season 7 Prequel Movie Air Date Announced

While the new Fall and Spring prime time schedules were the major story at this morning's FOX upfronts, news of 24's two-hour season 7 prequel movie kind of fell through the cracks. The film, which takes place between the end of Day 6 and the beginning of Day 7, will air on Sunday, November 23 at 8pm. The prequel will be mostly shot on location in South Africa, where our hero Jack Bauer becomes embroiled in an international crisis while, back home, the new president readies for her inauguration. The new season of 24, Day 7, will air in its entirety beginning in January of 2009. It will reclaim its usual Mondays at 9pm time slot.

Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune got this quote from David Fury about the format for the prequel: "With the exception of a brief opening teaser scene, the movie will be in a real-time format, taking place several months before Day 7,"

This should be very interesting. I wonder how much the prequel will discuss about Tony Almeida's aliveness and the way CTU was dismantled. Also, I would like the Charles Logan issue addressed as well as what is happening with Cheng.
